The Queen

Far far away in a land so green
there lived a queen so fair.
Her eyes were blue like morning-dew
and dark as night her hair.
She ruled her queendom wisely
and loved her people too.
But she was very lonely
since no man could be her true.

Yes, she had loved and lost
both kings and peasants mild
For if they tried to bind her
she would go from calm to wild.
Her feelings they were always strong
and the men they ran away
because they could not stand
her fiery eyes from day to day.

She thought she could no longer
love a man so sweet and calm.
She locked her tower, placed out guards
to keep her heart from harm.
Summer went and winter came
no prince could there be seen
chivalrous, with horse, and sword
who could save the broken queen.

  2. I love the rhyming scheme, especially in the first verse when you're describing her, great work and very vivid :)
Funny how we both thought of starting a new blog on the same week ^^ I'll add this one to my page too as I look forward to reading more of what you put here.
